STEAM +

Integrating visual and performing arts into the STEM curriculum since 2019 by facilitating Artists-in-Residence at all seven Miami Beach public schools.

Thank you, Art Basel for your 20th anniversary donation to the STEAM+ program, which will impact 4,500 school children a year!  We truly value the long-standing relationship between the City of Miami Beach and Art Basel.

THE STEAM PLUS PROGRAM

The STEAM Plus program is a Miami Beach Commission approved program that was created as a joint initiative of the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade Public Schools located on Miami Beach and The Bass Museum of Art. The program brings cultural organizations and/or groups as artists-in-residence to seven Miami Beach public schools - Biscayne Beach Elementary, Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center, Miami Beach Senior High, Miami Beach Nautilus Middle, North Beach Elementary, South Point Elementary and Treasure Island Elementary.

The objective of the STEAM Plus program is to integrate high quality visual and performing arts into science and math classes as part of the Miami-Dade school district’s STEAM initiative, which stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math.
